Half way back to Woodland, a farmer selling produce is reason enough to stop the train.  Huge tomatoes - some as big as a small head - are offered fresh from the field.

There's no hurry, and the train waits for all the passengers to take their time perusing the produce and then amble back.

Passenger service on the Yolo may be secondary to freight - but this line does it right.  The staff is friendly and outgoing, the train clean and even air-conditioned (no small surprise for a small line, and even more pleasing in the warm Central Valley).  It was a nice way to spend the afternoon, with the simple pleasure of a slow train ride.
