September 2002:  I con some friends to fly with me to British Columbia and ride aboard the Cariboo Prospector before its demise.  Shortly after, the aging Budd Rail Diesel Cars disappeared from Western Canada.

Spring 2003:  I receive a note from a small railroad in New Hampshire.  The RDCs from Canada are now in tourist service in New England.  A railroad employee invites me to visit.

Summer 2004:  I now live in New England, have a free Saturday and a full tank of gas. [Continue...]
