The Ord Court Stairway connects Douglass and Ord Streets
with States Street. Facing north, the stairway ascends from Douglas
to States. Facing west, a small staircase rises to Ord Court.
Like neighboring stairways (Vulcan Steps and Saturn Street
Stairs), the Ord Court Stairway is bordered by gardens cared for by residents
of the area. Several houses are accessible only from the stairs and
the owners have built clever gateways.
The Ord Court Stairway provides a convenient and easy
shortcut from States Street to Ord or Douglas Streets. |
