The Southern Pacific Railroad was famous for it's "Daylight"
passenger trains. Sitting quietly in Willits, these coaches have
fallen prey to local vandals, who have spraypainted the sides and broken
many of the windows.
A local rail historian told me these coaches were part of a series refurbished
in 1984 for the World's Fair and pulled by the famous 4449.
He didn't know how they ended up here. |
