The Skunk Train passes through a tunnel and emerges in
another land - warmer and grassy. The trees are smaller and only
appear on the edges of the horizon.
The train stops at the KOA Kampground depot to pick up passengers.
There aren't many. The KOA has a tiny railroad of its own - the miniature
tracks appear just on the other side of the depot. I think at first
there is no one actually staying at the Kampground, but then I see the
motorhomes are clustered together under a distant stand of trees.
A few European tourists have tents pitched nearby.
Having picked up our passenger, the Skunk moves forward again to Willits. |
