I can't recall
the last time I paid less than $100 a night for a hotel. The Central
Valley isn't one of California's premier tourist destinations, and several
hotels in Stockton offered rates less than $40 a night. Some hotels
offered lower rates - John remarked these establishments charged extra
for a morning-after dose of RID.
Downtown Stockton is a
decaying mass of sun-bleached buildings and bland office structures.
