Arriving back at Roaring Camp, we have a chance to look at the locomotive.  The Santa Cruz, Big Trees & Pacific has two CF-7 locomotives.  One upon a time (in the early 1950s, this locomotive looked like the photo at bottom left.

These were once sleek, streamlined F units from the early years of diesel locomotives.  In need of new motive power, but lacking funds, the Santa Fe Pacific Railroad rebuilt it's F units into these boxy units, dubbed CF-7s.  Long since retired from the Santa Fe, these units can still be found on shortlines across the country.

(Apparently the 2641 is the same road number this locomotive had on the Santa Fe.  Does anyone out there know when it was originally built and when it was rebuit at Cleburne?  If so, contact me and let me know!)
