in Nanaimo tells the history of the E&N. The sign leaves out
a significant part of the story. Nineteen years after completing
the line, Robert Dunsmuir convinced the Canadian Pacific to take over the
financially ailing line and gave them the 2 million acres as incentive
to do so. |
