Whistler is a popular ski destination and shortly after this journey, Whistler was selected to host the 2010 Winter Olympics.  The tiny highway connecting Whistler to the outside world is narrow and infamously dangerous.  Ignoring the value of existing rail transportation, the government of British Columbia is proposing to widen the highway at enormous cost - both economic and environmental.
